Little Free Library Installation
The Rotary Club of Avalon Park supports literacy and connection through its Little Free Library project. This neighbourhood book exchange encourages readers of all ages to take a book, leave a book, and enjoy the joy of reading, right in their own community. More than a book box, the Little Free Library promotes learning, sparks curiosity, and brings people together through shared stories and knowledge.

Word on the Street Homeless Ministry
WOTS is a Central Florida nonprofit serving the homeless by meeting physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Since 2005, they’ve distributed thousands of tents, sleeping bags, and meals while offering consistent outreach. Their mission is to serve wherever people are, on the street, in camps, or in need, with compassion and faith. Volunteers help assemble snack bags, serve meals, and distribute essentials donated by local partners.
Wine Walk
The Holiday Wine Walk, is a unique fundraising event that blends community, wine tasting, and purpose. As guests sample wines at local businesses throughout Downtown Avalon Park, they also help support a meaningful cause. All proceeds benefit the Sacha Patin Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides financial assistance to local students for tuition, school supplies, and other academic needs. Each ticket sold and glass poured helps invest in brighter futures through education.
Central Florida Miracle League
The Central Florida Miracle League provides children and adults with disabilities the chance to play baseball in a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment. Located at Trotter’s Park in Orlando, the league fosters self-esteem, friendship, and community through the joy of the game. With a custom-designed field and a strong network of volunteers, the Miracle League empowers every player to experience the magic of baseball—regardless of ability.
Publix Pickup
Publix Bread Pickup is a meaningful, ongoing initiative by the Rotary Club of Avalon Park. Twice a week, local Publix stores donate unsold bread, which our members pick up and deliver to individuals and families in need. This partnership reduces food waste while helping to address food insecurity in our community. It’s a small, consistent act of service that creates a lasting impact.
Poker Tournament
The Rotary Poker Tournament is an exciting annual fundraiser that combines friendly competition with community impact. Players come together for a night of strategy, fun, and giving—all to support local Rotary projects and initiatives. Proceeds help fund scholarships, service efforts, and programs that uplift the Avalon Park community.

The Short-Term Youth Exchange is a family-to-family cultural exchange for high school students, typically lasting a few weeks in the summer. Students live abroad with a host family and then welcome their exchange partner into their own home. It’s a unique chance to build global friendships, develop independence, and experience life in another culture—while representing Rotary values abroad.

Sacha Patin Memorial & Rotary Club of Avalon Park Endowed Scholarship
Sacha Patin Memorial & Rotary Club of Avalon Park Endowed Scholarship
at the University of Central Florida (UCF).
This scholarship is available to full-time undergraduate students, with a preference for those who attended Timber Creek High School in Orlando, Florida, and who demonstrate a commitment to volunteerism or service through a required essay.

Recycle in Brazil
